Worthy of Repeating

I can’t control
what other people think
about me

I can’t control
what other people say
about me

I can’t control
how other people behave
towards me

I can’t control
what other people believe true
Or people who don’t give credit
where credit is due

I can however
continue to praise God
in His infinite glory
and continue to sing
of His wondrous story

on what God has in store

Holding on to the wrongs of the past

A memory of how things used to be

Have we lost our sense
of compassion and concern?
Always expecting something in return?

Are we becoming more superficial
Only concerned with what is beneficial

We need to become more instrumental
in getting back what is fundamental

Take time to go the extra mile
Step out of our comfort zone
once in awhile

If for no other reason
than to make someone smile

Every day is precious.
A chance for memories
to be made.
Memories are precious.
Over time they fade.

People are precious.
We shouldn’t count them out.
Everyone deserves to be given
the benefit of the doubt.

Time is precious.
So take the time to dance.
Life is precious.
There is no second chance.

We have to sink
in order to swim
God wants us to trust
and fully rely on Him

We have to be lost
in order for God to lead
We have to fail
in order to succeed

We have to experience the storm
to learn to navigate the weather
We have to be broken
So God can put us back together

We have to be a seed
in order to be planted
We have to be thankful
and not take things for granted

on what matters most
Stop concerning ourselves
with someone’s comment or post

on inspiring kindness
instead of being critical
Stop making everything
racial or political

on the Lord above
Show less judment
And a lot more love

seem so daunting

Feeling uninspired

Thoughts running through
your head

No matter the time of day
Sometimes all you can do is pray

Sometimes I get thoughts
in my head
I have learned
some things are better left unsaid

Sometimes I do things
I later regret
I have learned
It does no good
to get upset

Sometimes when I have insecurities
I find myself overcompensating
I have learned
I don’t have to be
so accommodating

I am not a perfect person
I never claimed to be
I have learned
only God can judge me
